Rachel W.

Rachel W. is an accomplished data science professional currently serving as the Senior Data Science Lead at Nesta since January 2020, where Rachel helps guide the strategic application of data science within the A Fairer Start mission. In this capacity, Rachel leads the Data Community of Practice, focusing on learning, development, and providing technical support to a team of analysts and data scientists. Previously, Rachel held the position of Data Science Lead within the same mission, managing a team and producing impactful data visualizations and reports. Earlier experience includes a role as a Data Scientist in the Data Analytics Directorate at Nesta and freelance editing at Cactus Communications, where Rachel edited scientific papers while completing a PhD in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Edinburgh, complemented by a Master's in Earth Sciences from the University of Oxford.
