Alessandro Balasco

Alessandro Balasco has more than 20 years of experience in web development and software engineering. Alessandro is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Nestpick since March 2023. Previously, they served as the Lead Backend Engineer at Nord Security from October 2021 to March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Lead Software Engineer in Residence at Oetker Digital GmbH from February 2020 to October 2021, where they led a team of 10 engineers in building a scalable eCommerce system.

Before that, Alessandro worked at Solytic as a Lead Software Engineer from March 2019 to February 2020, where they led a team in developing a monitoring and prediction solution for solar panel installations. From November 2016 to February 2019, they worked at WeQ Global as a Lead Software Engineer and was responsible for building and managing microservices for advertising campaigns. Alessandro also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at WeQ Global from January 2016 to October 2016.

Earlier in their career, Alessandro worked at Rocket Internet SE as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on building an eCommerce platform and launching new ventures. Alessandro also worked at Plinga GmbH as a Software Engineer, where they were part of a cross-functional team and developed various software solutions. Additionally, they worked as a Development & Web Marketing Manager at Veratour s.p.a., where they oversaw website development and online strategy.

Alessandro's career started at Egolab s.r.l. as a Web Developer, where they developed websites and web applications using various technologies. Alessandro also built a custom framework for managing contests and lotteries. Alessandro began their professional journey as a Web Developer at KMSTUDIO DESIGN.

Alessandro Balasco obtained their Laurea degree in Economia e Commercio from Sapienza Università di Roma, graduating in 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Diploma in Maturità scientifica from Liceo Scientifico A. Avogadro in Roma, from the years 1992 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Alessandro Balasco has also obtained certifications in Parallel, Concurrent, and Distributed Programming in Java Specialization and Building Cloud Services with the Java Spring Framework. Alessandro received these certifications from Coursera in November 2020 and October 2020, respectively.
