Hans Sjöstrand

Hans Sjöstrand has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Hans started their career at Ericsson in 1994, where they worked as a Software Designer, focusing on real-time signaling protocols and management interfaces. Hans then moved on to become a Technical Leader and Project Manager for the MPLS project, where they played a key role in producing the first interoperable MPLS demonstration and co-authored several MPLS specifications.

In 1999, Hans transitioned to the role of System Manager at Ericsson, responsible for defining requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and leading prestudies for the IP/ATM switch. Hans also became involved in standards and patent responsibilities during this time.

In 2001, Hans joined ipUnplugged as a System Manager, overseeing projects such as pre-studies for the routing platform and leading the development of a AAA prototype. Hans also took on the role of Director of Support and Professional Services, where they handled support on key accounts, performed customer network planning and deployments, and served as the company's Security Officer.

Hans later joined Transmode Systems AB as a Senior Product Manager in 2008, where they played a pivotal role in introducing Packet Technology into the TM-series Optical Platform. Transmode was subsequently acquired by Infinera in 2015, and Hans continued as the Director of Product Management, leading the development of the XTM Packet Optical Product Line. Hans also took on additional responsibilities in 2017, leading the metro work in a new product line focused on software automation and open source SDN controllers.

Recently, in 2021, Hans joined Net Insight as the Director of Product Management, leading the company's expansion into network synchronization and driving their presence in mobile 5G networks.

Hans Sjöstrand pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from 1988 to 1993 at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.
