Haiyan Song

EVP & GM CloudOps Business at NetApp

Haiyan Song has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Their most recent position was with NetApp as the EVP of CloudOps Business, a role they started in April 2023. Before that, they joined Chief, a private network aimed at empowering women executives, as a Member in December 2022. In 2020, Haiyan served as a Board Member at CSG.

Prior to their current roles, Haiyan held key positions at F5, Splunk, LLamasoft, Inc., Hewlett Packard Enterprise, ArcSight, SenSage, and Omniva Policy Systems. At F5, they served as the Executive Vice President of Security and Distributed Cloud from January 2021 to March 2023, where they played a significant role in developing and launching F5's Distributed Cloud Platform and Security Services. Before F5, as the SVP and GM of Security Markets at Splunk from February 2014 to January 2021, they led and executed Splunk's strategy in the rapidly growing security market.

In addition to their executive roles, Haiyan has also served on the boards of LLamasoft, Inc. and Omniva Policy Systems. Haiyan held various positions at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, including VP and General Manager of ArcSight HP ESP from October 2012 to February 2014 and VP of Engineering & Products from September 2005 to September 2012. Prior to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, they held the position of VP of Engineering at both ArcSight and SenSage.

Haiyan's career began in 2003 as the VP of Engineering and Support at Omniva Policy Systems, a company focused on secure messaging solutions. Haiyan remained in that role until August 2004 when Omniva was acquired by Liquid Machines.

Haiyan Song's education history includes completing undergrad studies in Computer Science at Tsinghua University. Then, from 1987 to 1988, they pursued a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. Haiyan Song continued their education at Florida Atlantic University from 1988 to 1990, earning a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Lastly, in 2012, they attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and completed the Stanford Executive Program in General Management.
