Alex van Keeken

Research Assistant At Sleep And Cognition Lab at Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience

Alex van Keeken is a research assistant at the Sleep and Cognition Lab of Nederlands Herseninstituut since August 2022. Prior to this role, Alex served as a research intern at Amsterdam UMC's Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, where a master thesis focused on "Symptom Interactions in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Typical Development." Experience also includes internships in clinical neuropsychology at VU Amsterdam, focused on cognitive correlates of problem behavior, and at the Sleep & Memory Lab at Universiteit van Amsterdam, researching the effects of Targeted Memory Reactivation on PTSD treatment. Alex's educational background encompasses a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuropsychology from VU Amsterdam, a Global Exchange Program in Psychology at The University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of Amsterdam. Early work experience includes volunteering at Global Exploration and serving as a waitress at Eetcafé de Lanteern.
