Gary McCormick has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Gary started as a Business Change Consultant at WEX Europe Services Limited in 2015, where they were responsible for delivering operational excellence programs and conducting process and organizational reviews. Gary then worked at Thames Water as a Project/Stakeholder Manager, implementing a waste water treatment decision support tool and managing the implementation process. Gary also worked at Yarlington Housing Group and Your Housing Group as a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager, respectively.

Gary continued their career at Southern Housing as a Lead Business Analyst, collaborating with Metropolitan Thames Valley to improve asset data architecture and comply with the Building Safety Act. Gary then served as a Senior Business Analyst at Metropolitan Thames Valley, followed by their current role at Network Homes as a BIM Business Analyst, where they are responsible for ISO 19650 adoption and establishing requirements for the building information management system.

Gary McCormick has a diverse education history. In 1977 to 1983, they attended Saint Chads Grammar School in Wolverhampton, where they obtained their O' levels, specifically earning 9 of them. After completing their O' levels, McCormick pursued further studies at Wulfrun College in Wolverhampton. From 1985 to 1987, they studied Business Studies and earned an HNC qualification. Following this, McCormick continued their studies at Wulfrun College from 1987 to 1988, focusing on Business Studies, where they obtained an HND qualification. In 1988 to 1989, they attended the Sandwell Management Centre and achieved an Institute of Management Services Diploma in Business Analysis.
