Richard Gustin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Research/Clinical Specialist at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine Department of Microbiology and Immunology. In 2003, they joined Vanderbilt University's School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology as a Graduate student, where they stayed until 2010. Following that, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington, School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology from 2010 to 2012.
In 2012, Richard co-founded and served as Chairman of the Pharmacology Career Program. Later that year, they transitioned to The Medical Affairs Company, where they worked as a Medical Science Liaison until 2013. From 2013 to 2017, they served as a National Clinical Affairs Executive at Orexo AB publ.
In 2018, Richard joined Eisai US as a Medical Science Liaison and remained in that role until 2019. Richard then moved to Neurelis, Inc., where they held various positions including Medical Science Liaison from 2019 to 2020, Senior Director of Medical Information from 2020 to 2022, and their current role as Senior Director of Commercial Learning & Development from 2022.
Additionally, Richard has been involved with The Recovery Research Network since 2016, serving as the President of the Board of Directors. Richard'sresponsibilities at TRRNF included managing research objectives, leading grant development, directing community outreach and networking, providing disease state education, and managing fundraising initiatives.
Richard Gustin obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Miami, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Richard then pursued further education and achieved a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University, completing their studies between 2003 and 2009.
