Stevie Lemke DeSomber is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in tribal governance and advocacy. Currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Nevada Legal Services since September 2019 and as a Self-Governance Analyst for the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation since January 2016, Stevie has previously worked as the Assistant Director of Self-Governance for the Yurok Tribe. In earlier roles, Stevie honed legal skills through internships with prominent organizations including the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Native American Rights Fund, focusing on issues impacting Indian Country. Educational credentials encompass a Juris Doctor in Indian Law from Lewis & Clark Law School, complemented by legal studies at The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Portland State University. Throughout the career, Stevie has dedicated efforts to the development and implementation of tribal projects and provided legal research and insights on various topics affecting Native American communities.
