Bridget Chan (she/her) is the program manager for #SharetheMicinCyber at New America, where she works to elevate the perspectives of a new, diverse generation of cybersecurity leaders. She brings an enthusiasm for cybersecurity and international security policy, a passion for DEI, and a breadth of experience in research, analysis, and cross-team collaboration.
Chan has served in different areas of the public sector prior to joining New America. She most recently served as a program and management analyst intern at the U.S. Government Accountability Office where she contributed to the 2022 Fiscal Health Report and briefed high-level government officials, stakeholders, and experts. Prior to her graduate studies, Chan was at ORS Impact, a consulting firm in Seattle specializing in impact monitoring and evaluation and strategic planning. She’s partnered with major philanthropies such as the MacArthur Foundation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Hewlett Foundation during her tenure, and has conducted research on policy issues such as nuclear nonproliferation and democratic governance. Her first job after her undergraduate studies was at a local nonprofit, where she provided project planning and management to support the creation of a nonprofit professional development program serving Washington State.
She received her master’s of public administration from Columbia University and her bachelor’s in international studies from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies.
