Douglas & Cynthia Crocker Endowed Chair for the Chief Curator at New Bedford Whaling Museum

Naomi Slipp currently serves as the Douglas and Cynthia Crocker Endowed Chair for the Chief Curator and Director of Museum Learning at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, overseeing a vast collection and guiding educational programs. Prior experience includes roles as Co-Executive Editor for Panorama, and Director of the Southern Studies Conference Organizing Committee, McDermott Art Gallery, and Associate Professor of Art History at Auburn University at Montgomery, where a diverse range of art history courses were developed and taught. Additional positions held encompass curatorial and educational roles at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Harvard Art Museums, and Roger Williams University. Naomi Slipp earned a PhD in Art History from Boston University, an MA in Art History from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art & Art History from Hampshire College.
