Michael McAteer

Michael McAteer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy efficiency and commercial buildings sector. Currently serving as a Fellow and V.P. of the Board of Directors at New Buildings Institute since 2003, Michael focuses on translating leading-edge practices and technologies into innovative solutions. Previously, Michael was a member of the Board for the Rhode Island Energy Efficiency & Resource Management Council from 2014 to December 2018, representing customer interests and providing stakeholder feedback on energy decisions. Additionally, Michael spent 28 years at National Grid, culminating in the role of Director of Strategic Business Policy and Evaluation, overseeing sustainable design and energy initiatives. Michael earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1972 and 1977.
