Crystal Mayes

Crystal Mayes has a diverse work experience starting from 2000. Crystal worked as an Executive Team Leader/Assistant Store Manager at Target from January 2000 to January 2002. Following this, they worked as a Teacher at Humble ISD from August 2002 to May 2007. From June 2007 to July 2009, Crystal served as the District Reading and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator, K-12 at Huffman ISD. Crystal later joined New Caney ISD & Liberty ISD in July 2009 as an Elementary Assistant Principal, a role they held until July 2014. Crystal then became a Principal at New Caney Independent School District from April 2014 until the present date, where they are now serving as a School Principal.

Crystal Mayes has a Doctor of Education - Ed.D degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration and a Superintendent Certificate from Texas A&M University, which they obtained in 2017. Crystal also has a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University, obtained between 2006 and 2008. In addition, they have a Bachelors degree in Organizational Speech Communication and Agriculture from Texas State University, obtained between 1998 and 2001. Crystal Mayes has also obtained certifications including an ESL Certificate, a Generalist, Teacher 4-8 Certificate, and a Principal Certificate from the Texas Education Agency.
