Theresa Lee

Theresa Lee has a diverse work experience in the field of development and fundraising. Theresa has held various roles in different organizations, showcasing their expertise and leadership skills.

Theresa started their most recent role as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill in November 2021, where they oversee all aspects of development and membership, including fundraising and managing staff.

Before that, Theresa served as the Acting Director of Development at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill and played a crucial role in managing fundraising initiatives.

Theresa also has a background in consulting, as they founded and served as the CEO of TJL Partners, a non-profit consulting firm providing strategic solutions for fundraising challenges.

Additionally, Theresa has experience as an Instructor in the Professional Fundraising Certificate Program at Boston University Metropolitan College, where they taught various modules on fundraising.

Prior to their consulting and teaching roles, Theresa worked as a Principal Consultant at Responsive Fundraising, where they provided consulting services.

Theresa has also held positions at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Boston College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MIT Annual Fund, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and College of the Holy Cross, where they held various leadership roles related to development, annual giving, and capital fundraising.

Throughout their career, Theresa has demonstrated their ability to manage fundraising programs, develop strategic plans, lead teams, and achieve fundraising success.

Theresa Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Maine in 1987. Theresa later pursued a Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University from 1987 to 1989.
