As the Director of Communications and Outreach, Michael shapes NECEC's messaging as it leads the just, equitable and rapid transition to a clean energy future and diverse climate economy. He oversees media, social media and events for the organization. Before joining NECEC he was involved in emergency COVID-19 communications and worked as a political communications consultant. Michael served as the Executive Director of Communications for the City of Somerville, Mass. While there he established the City's social media platform and built its messaging around critical redevelopment projects, the expansion of public transit and reforming healthcare benefits for the City workforce. Prior to that he had been a Senior Analyst for Application Infrastructure with Current Analysis. He also has served as editor-in-chief with TechTarget Inc. and a senior writer with Computerworld Magazine. Michael got his start in media and communications as a newspaper reporter with the MetroWest Daily News (Mass.), Nantucket Inquirer & Mirror (Mass.) and Danbury News-Times (Conn.). He is a graduate of Boston University.
