Alap Shah

Alap Shah has a diverse work experience primarily in the energy industry. Alap is currently serving as the Managing Director of Development at New Fortress Energy since April 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Vice President and Head of Solutions Group at the same company from January 2020 to May 2022.

Before joining New Fortress Energy, Alap Shah worked at Black & Veatch for a significant portion of their career. Alap held various roles at Black & Veatch, including Vice President and Director of Technologies, Power from April 2016 to January 2020. Alap also served as an Associate Vice President and Turbine Technologies Manager from February 2014 to April 2016, and as the Thermal Performance Section Head from August 2006 to February 2014. Alap Shah started their career at Black & Veatch as a Rotating Equipment Engineer from August 1997 to April 1999 before being promoted to a Thermal Performance Engineer from April 1999 to August 2016.

Alap Shah has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, which they obtained between 1987 and 1991. Alap also pursued Engineering/Industrial Management at The University of Kansas and completed it before 2006. In addition to their formal education, Alap Shah has obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects in December 2000.
