Marcelo Outeiro

Marcelo Outeiro has over 20 years of experience in taxation, with a focus on Brazil. Marcelo is currently serving as the Tax Director for New Fortress Energy. Prior to this, Marcelo worked at BP as the Tax Director for Brazil, where they oversaw all tax-related activities for the company's operations, including compliance, planning, and litigation. Marcelo also led a team of 30+ professionals and implemented new tax compliance processes, technology tools, and standardized control frameworks.

Before joining BP, Marcelo worked at El Paso as the Treasury, Risk, and Tax Senior Manager, where they were responsible for tax compliance, reporting, planning, as well as cash and banking activities. Marcelo also managed tax audits and litigation for the company.

Marcelo started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Tax Manager and later worked as a Senior Tax Manager at Branco Consultores. Marcelo began their professional journey at Arthur Andersen as a Senior Tax Consultant.

Overall, Marcelo has extensive experience in tax management, compliance, planning, and litigation, particularly in the Brazilian context.

Marcelo Outeiro completed their education at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management. Marcelo later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Oil & Gas Business at MBP COPPE/UFRJ in 2007 and a second MBA in Project Management at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2008.
