Carly Swanson

Carly Swanson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Carly is currently working as an Emergency Response Coordinator (Deputy Chief) at New Gold Inc. since March 2022.

Before that, they worked as a Fiberline Field Operator at Domtar from April 2021 to April 2022.

Carly also has experience at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) where they held two roles. Carly worked as a Process Operator from September 2018 to April 2021, and as a Technician, Mine Technical Support from June 2017 to August 2018.

Prior to CNRL, Carly worked as a Communications Technician at Shell from July 2014 to May 2017.

Carly also has experience at Tridon Communications as a Service Technician Team Lead (Safe Mine Project) from October 2013 to July 2014, and as an Installation Technician from July 2013 to October 2013.

Carly's earlier work experience includes roles as a Summer Student/Labourer at Tolko Industries from June 2011 to August 2012, and as a Shutdown Student at Domtar in April 2011.

Carly Swanson's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Math from Thompson Rivers University, which they completed from 2006 to 2012. Afterward, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in DMet (Meteorology) from Dalhousie University, attending from 2012 to 2013. Over the years, Carly has also received various certifications in emergency response and firefighting. Carly obtained training in NFPA 1001 - Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 as well as NFPA 472 - Hazardous Operations and Materials from Training Division between 2019 and 2020. Additionally, they completed an Emergency Medical Responder course at St Johns Ambulance in 2020 and received training in NFPA 1006 Level 1 Operations at Spectrum Safety Group in 2022.
