Alicia Washkevich

Alicia Washkevich has a diverse work experience spanning the fields of politics, military, and non-profit organizations. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at both New Politics and New Politics Leadership Academy since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Operations at the Military Family Building Coalition starting in 2021. In their previous role at the Sierra Club, they held multiple positions from 2009 to 2022, including Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Associate Director of Operations, Conservation Finance and Operations Manager, and Operations & Finance Manager for National Youth & Veterans Programs. Alicia also has a background in the United States Navy, where they served as an Officer/Lieutenant in various roles, such as Director of Operations & Training, Oceanographer/Lead Hydrographer, and Director of Anti-Terrorism & Force Protection Operations.

Alicia Washkevich graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography. Alicia then pursued further education at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2003 to 2004, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Applied Science/Oceanography. In 2019, Alicia Washkevich attended Cornell University and completed a certificate program in Women in Leadership.
