Adrienne Y. has a diverse work experience beginning in 2016 as a Sales and Marketing intern at Hearst Cosmopolitan Magazine. In 2016, they also served as a Distance Learning Intern at Virginia Tech School of Education and NASA's JPL. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as an Assistant Director of Online Learning at Virginia Tech College of Engineering. In 2018, Adrienne joined Alleghany High School as a Testing and Technology Resource Teacher, where they provided training in instructional technology and assisted with data analysis. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as an Event and Media Specialist at Virginia Western Community College. In 2022, they became an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher at Alleghany High School. Most recently, in 2023, they took on the role of Site Administrator Head Start at New River Community Action.
Adrienne Y. holds a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Design and Technology) from Virginia Tech. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction from Radford University. Their bachelor's degree is in Political Science and Government, which they obtained from Virginia Tech as well. In addition to their formal education, Adrienne Y. has obtained several certifications. This includes being a Certified Trauma and Resilience Specialist in Early Childhood (CTRS-EC) from Canvas Credentials (Badgr), with two separate certifications earned in July 2023. They also hold a certification in Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher from the CITI Program, obtained in November 2022. Adrienne Y. has gained additional skills and knowledge through various online courses and training programs, such as Inclusive Instructional Design from LinkedIn, Creating Accessible Documents in Microsoft Office from LinkedIn, and What is Data Science? from Coursera. They have completed several other courses and trainings in areas including instructional design, project management, photography, and software proficiency.
