Laura Hernandez-Flores

Senior Director, Partnerships at New Teacher Center

Laura Hernandez-Flores has a diverse work experience with various roles in the education sector. Laura began their career as an Educator at Fullerton College in 2002 and later joined Ontario-Montclair School District as a Teacher from 2003 to 2008.

In 2006, they were a Student at the University of Southern California, where they pursued their higher education until 2009. Laura then served as a Faculty Advisor at Claremont Graduate University from 2007 to 2008.

Laura joined MLA Partner Schools in 2008 and held the positions of Associate Director and Site Director at Manual Arts High School until 2011. Laura then became the Chief of Staff at LA's Promise (formerly MLA Partner Schools) from 2011 to 2012.

From 2013, Laura started working at New Teacher Center (NTC). Laura first served as the Director of NTC LA, responsible for the local business strategy and successful implementation of programs in Los Angeles. In 2015, they became the Regional Program Director, West, leading the development of induction programs for new teachers and principals in the Western region. Since July 2017, Laura has held the position of Senior Director, Partnerships at NTC, with a focus on creating a sustainable strategy for high-quality work across all states in the region.

Laura Hernandez-Flores began their education at UCLA in 1993 and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science. In 1999, they attended Stanford University, though their degree information is unspecified. From 2000 to 2003, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education at Loyola Marymount University. Finally, they attended the University of Southern California from 2006 to 2009, earning an Ed.D. degree in Educational Leadership/Teacher Education.
