Scott M.

Scott M. has a strong background in education and coaching. Scott began their career as an English teacher at EF English First, where they designed and taught courses to students of various ages and proficiency levels. Scott then worked as an English teacher at Bromley Language Centre, where they received high client satisfaction. Scott later joined New Haven Public Schools as an ESL tutor, providing support to English Language Learners.

Scott's work experience at New Haven Public Schools continued with a role as an elementary teacher at Roberto Clemente Leadership Academy. In this role, they taught fourth grade and received the highest rating in all core areas on the district-wide teacher evaluation.

Moving on, Scott joined Teach For America as a Manager and later as a Director of Teacher Leadership Development. Scott designed and implemented training conferences for teachers, managed regional teacher award processes, and coached and developed beginning teachers. Scott also designed and administered training on assessment and data programs.

Scott's most recent role is with New Teacher Center as a Senior Manager of Technology Solutions. As the Product Owner, they manage the design, strategy, and development of the organization's online learning and coaching platform. Scott also produces learning resources and serves as the Scrum Master for sprint meetings and backlog refinement.

Throughout their career, Scott has shown a dedication to improving adult learning facilitation and supporting the growth and development of educators and school leaders.

Scott M. completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music from the University of Leeds from 2003 to 2006. Scott then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Elementary Education, K-6 from Southern Connecticut State University from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Scott has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Scott received Teacher Certification, Tier II from the Connecticut Department of Education in July 2011. Scott is also a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in April 2022 and November 2022, respectively. Scott became a Google Certified Educator Level 1 and Level 2: Advanced in July 2020 and August 2020, respectively. Scott also acquired the Google Certified Trainer certification in October 2020. Scott holds additional certifications in Cybersecurity Practices for Industrial Control Systems from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, obtained in January 2023, and Data Sharing Under FERPA from the U.S. Department of Education, obtained in January 2023.
