Director Of Social And Emotional Learning at New Visions for Public Schools

Greg Lucas has a diverse work history in the education and social services sector. Greg most recently served as the Director of Social and Emotional Learning at New Visions for Public Schools, where they were responsible for implementing programs to support students' emotional well-being. Prior to that, they held the role of Deputy Director of School Culture and Climate at the same organization.

Before joining New Visions, Greg worked at DREAM (formerly Harlem RBI) as the Director of South Bronx Programs and Community Engagement. In this role, they served as the external face of the organization and coordinated community events to advance the organization's goals.

Earlier in their career, Greg was a Senior Program Director at FEGS, where they oversaw the operations of the Young Adult Borough Center and collaborated with Department of Education leadership on school initiatives. Greg also held the position of Assistant Director at JCCA, where they supervised staff and maintained compliance with agency policies.

Greg Lucas obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from LIU Post in the years 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a specialization in Macro Management at the University at Albany, SUNY between 2000 and 2002. Most recently, from 2022 to 2025, Greg Lucas attended Antioch University to earn a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in the field of Social Emotional Learning.
