Michelle Drumm has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 1999 with a Graduate Assistant Teacher role at the University of Arizona. In 2002, they held a Solo Librarian role at Remington College, and was a Government Publications Librarian at the University of Colorado, Boulder on a temporary assignment. In 2004, they worked as a Public Services Librarian at Houston Community College. From 2007 to 2010, they were an Emerging Technologies Consultant at the Bibliographical Center for Research, and also held roles as Head Cheese at 601 Solutions and Digital Services Coordinator at the Colorado State Library. Finally, from 2011 to 2014, they were the Chief Operating Officer at Commerce Kitchen, and was a Co-Founder at New Why.

Michelle Drumm began their educational journey in 1987 when they attended Tempe High. Michelle then attended Reed College from 1991 to 1995, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts in English. After that, they attended the University of Arizona from 1999 to 2002, where they earned their Master of Arts in Information Resources and Library Science.
