Mark Schlemmer

Registrar for Collections at NEW YORK HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Mark B. Schlemmer is an experienced museum professional currently serving as the Registrar for Collections at the New-York Historical Society since March 2015, where responsibilities include managing outgoing loans, coordinating traveling exhibitions, and overseeing documentation for new acquisitions. Previously, Mark held positions at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, where role as Assistant Registrar involved managing collections exhibitions and negotiating shipping logistics. Additionally, Mark was a Board Member and Chairman of the Education Committee for the Association of Registrars and Collections Specialists. Mark's early career included managing a linguistic services company in a trilingual environment. Mark B. Schlemmer holds an MA with High Distinction in Museum Professions from Seton Hall University, a BFA magna cum laude in Art and Design from Ball State University, and a BA magna cum laude in French from Ball State University.
