Ron Middleton is the tight ends coach for the New York Jets. Ron was previously the tight ends coach and ST assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars from February 2013 to January 2021. Prior to that, they were the tight ends coach and assistant ST coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from February 2004 to January 2007.
Middleton began their coaching career at the University of Mississippi, where they were the ST coordinator and RB coach from January 2001 to February 2004, and then the TE coach from December 1998 to January 2000. Ron then spent five years at Duke University Football, first as the associate head coach from January 2008 to March 2013, and then as the ST coordinator and TEs coach from January 2008 to March 2013.
Middleton's professional playing career began in 1988 with the Washington Redskins. Ron played for the Redskins for two years before moving on to the Cleveland Browns in 1989. Ron then returned to the Redskins in 1990 and played there until 1994. Ron spent 1995 with the San Diego Chargers before finishing their career with the Los Angeles Rams in 1996.
Ron Middleton has a Masters in Sports Management from Troy University and a BS in Pre Law / Ron'story from Auburn University.
