Melissa Rooney

Melissa Rooney is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in writing, education, and the arts. Currently serving as a book reviewer for the New York Journal of Books and as a performing arts reviewer for Triangle Review, Rooney also conducts writing workshops for elementary students as a writer in residence at both Durham Public Schools Foundation and Summit School. Additionally, Rooney is a grants writer for Urban Sustainability Solutions, working on education and job training programs. With a strong background in children's literature and STEM education, Rooney has authored several books, including the *Eddie the Electron* series published by Chicago Review Press. Rooney obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has held various editorial roles, including senior and scientific editor positions with American Journal Experts.
