Cheryl James

Cheryl James is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at New York Life Insurance Company since January 2017, with a progression of roles including Vice President positions and Chief of Staff to various legal executives. Cheryl has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law from August 2022 to May 2023. Prior legal experience includes senior associate roles at Weil Gotshal and Manges, and a law clerk position for the Honorable George B. Daniels at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Cheryl earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School and holds a B.A. in Political Science from New York University.
