Grant Klinkum is the current CEO at New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Grant has also served as the Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance Division from January 2016 to December 2018. Prior to that, they were the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Strategy and Corporate from March 2014 to January 2016.
Before joining the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, Grant Klinkum worked at the Tertiary Education Commission from February 2007 to February 2014 as the General Manager of Tertiary Investment. From January 2019 to March 2020, they served as the Acting Deputy Secretary for Graduate Achievement, Careers and Vocations at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand.
Grant Klinkum began their career in February 2002 as the Deputy Chief Executive at Eastern Institute of Technology. Grant later became Dean of the Faculty of Applied Studies at International Pacific College from January 1996 to December 2002.
Grant Klinkum has completed an Executive Education Programme at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a M.Ed in Education Administration at Massey University, and a Ph.D in Politics at Victoria University of Wellington. Grant also holds a B.A and M.A in Political Science from the University of Canterbury.
