Mattie Wethington

Mattie Wethington (Lindner) has extensive experience in communications and public relations, currently serving as the Director of Communications at Newfields since October 2016. In this role, Mattie oversees all public relations and media efforts, acts as the spokesperson for the institution, and collaborates with various teams to produce effective communications. Previously, Mattie held positions as Public Relations Manager and Communications Coordinator at Newfields, where responsibilities included managing media interactions and generating media coverage. Additional experience includes internships with USA Diving and Indiana Sports Corp, along with volunteer work in the SIU Athletics Marketing Department. Mattie holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
