Karen Brake

Karen Brake has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Karen most recently worked as a Human Resources Manager at Newfoundland Power starting in September 2019. Prior to that, they were a Human Resources Business Partner at Molson Coors Beverage Company for 22 years, where they provided full HR services to multiple breweries, focusing on employee engagement and business results. Karen also worked as the Director of Human Resources at Burin Peninsula Health Care Board from 1991 to 1997, where they were responsible for formulating and implementing HR policies and procedures and managing employee recruitment.

Karen Brake completed their Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree with a focus on Labour Relations/Human Resources at Memorial University of Newfoundland from 1986 to 1991. Later, they pursued further education in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at the Canadian Health Care Association from 1995 to 1996.
