Whitney Urmann

Whitney Urmann is an experienced educator currently serving as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Kirkwood School District since August 2023, with a concurrent position as a first grade teacher at Bayview Elementary since August 2019. Urmann has a diverse background in teaching, including roles as a first grade teacher in the West Contra Costa Unified School District and a 4th grade teacher at Priest Lake Elementary. Additionally, Urmann has served as a Title I Literacy Coach at Priest River Elementary School, focusing on reading and literacy skills for students in kindergarten through third grade. Other professional experiences include public relations management at Riley Creek Blueberry Farm, media-related internships, and a notable position as managing editor for The Orion, an award-winning independent news organization. Urmann holds a Master's degree in Education from Whitworth University and a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations/Image Management from California State University, Chico.
