Maggie Andrews leads the NewSchools Venture Fund development team, helping to connect people, ideas, and capital so all students can create lives full of opportunity and choices. Prior to NewSchools, Maggie led the fundraising efforts at 826 National, a national network of youth writing centers. Having spent more than a decade raising funds for youth arts and education, her career has taken her from a children’s museum in Baltimore, to public radio in Boston, to jazz programming on the campus of Stanford University. In 2014, she joined the fundraising team at Teach For America – Bay Area to shift her focus more squarely to education and equity. Maggie received her B.A. in English from Dickinson College and a Masters of Arts Administration from Boston University. She serves on the board of the Center for New Music in San Francisco. A native Pennsylvanian, Maggie now resides in Oakland, CA with her husband and daughter.
