Mary Gomes

Mary Gomes is currently the Vice President at Nexant. Mary has over 18 years of experience in various accounting positions.

Mary started their career at Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP as the Compliance & Consulting Staff Supervisor. Mary was responsible for compliance, business consulting, and financial modeling. After three years, they moved to Applied Solutions Inc. as the Controller. There, they were responsible for accounting oversight, system upgrades, and process improvements.

In 2005, Mary was hired by Hotwire as the Director of Accounting. For twelve years, they led the accounting department and was responsible for various financial operations. In 2017, they left Hotwire to join Resources Global Professionals as an Associate Consultant. There, they led a European team in ensuring SOX documentation, performing remediation, and overcoming revenue recognition issues for clients of a leading global consultancy. Among their accomplishments, they advanced the financial operations of a major manufacturer and real estate firm with SOX 404 documentation, process improvements, remediation, and improved testing. Mary also led the implementation of and training on a new SOX 404 software tool, Policy IQ.

Mary has extensive experience in consulting, SOX & other compliance, remediation & testing, process improvements, and client relationship management. Her experience has spanned across various industries including manufacturing, real estate, and technology.

Mary Gomes has a degree in Business Economics with an Accounting Emphasis from UC Santa Barbara. Mary is also SOX certified from Resources Global Professionals.
