Senior Program Manager at Nexant

Tom Wroblewski is an Energy Manager in Nexant’s Utility Services business unit in Hinsdale, Illinois. He currently manages the outreach function for the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program Retro-Commissioning (RCx) offering to business accounts over 100kW peak demand. Tom manages ten out of the current 33 RCx Service Providers (SP). He collaborates with RCx service all RCx SPs, project coordinators, and other stakeholders to meet/exceed annual energy efficiency savings targets.

As an Energy Manager, Tom engages with customers to take action to implement energy efficiency, including building the business case for capital and operational project decision-making – from the local management team up to company officers. Tom analyzes energy saving projects from application phase through measurement and verification phases through utility energy efficiency programs. He provides unbiased technical expertise that business customers need to help them implement energy efficiency projects across a wide range of commercial and industrial processes and systems.

Tom has successfully managed teams of both experienced, and developing engineering professionals. He has extensive clean energy expertise including CHP and biomass. His field energy efficiency experience spans North America from Pacific Northwest, through several Midwestern states, and east into New York and Ontario.

Prior to joining Nexant, Tom was a Senior Energy Specialist with CleanTech Partners, Inc., where he managed industrial aspects of a statewide energy efficiency program in Wisconsin, Focus on Energy. This work involved industrial energy efficiency best practices through large custom projects, deployment and financing of emerging technologies for industrial energy efficiency, including the measurement and verification of energy savings associated with emerging, commercially available, technologies (i.e., technologies beyond the R&D stage). Tom was also the Energy Efficiency Technical Lead and subject-matter expert for the Pulp & Paper industrial efficiency sector, US DOE Better Buildings/Better Plants, and CHP systems for project development.

Prior to Focus on Energy, Tom was the North American Senior Energy Engineer for a Fortune 500 company (Stora Enso), implementing energy efficiency projects and process improvements, CHP system operation, and pulp/paper mill energy consumption benchmarking. Before diversifying into the pulp/paper and ultimately energy efficiency industries, Tom was an engineer and plant supervisor for an investor-owned public utility company. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is a registered Professional Engineer.
