Jimmy Pesola has a strong background in software development and test automation. Jimmy started their career at Ericsson AB in 2007 as a Young Engineer, where they focused on test automation and development of automated tests for new IMS features. Jimmy also contributed to the maintenance and extension of the test framework and implemented new features in a TTCN-3 based traffic generator.
In 2008, Jimmy moved to Ericsson Spain as a Software Developer, where they specialized in analysis, design, and function test automation for tests based on the ETSI standard language TTCN-3. Jimmy worked extensively with testing functionality and new features/interfaces related to network/telecom protocols such as RADIUS, DIAMETER, LDAP, MAP, and SOAP in the HSS product. In addition to testing, they played a crucial role in maintaining and improving the TTCN-3 testing frameworks, making technical decisions, and writing extensions using C++ interfaces to enhance testing capabilities.
After their tenure at Ericsson Spain, Jimmy returned to Ericsson AB in 2016 as a Software Developer. In this role, their primary responsibilities included the development and maintenance of test tools and test automation using languages like Java and Python. Jimmy worked in a DevOps role, handling operations of containerized microservices in a test pipeline based on Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and Jenkins. Jimmy also gained experience in test lab equipment operations and virtualization infrastructure, working with vendors like Dell, Juniper, and HPE, as well as Openstack and VMware vSphere vCenter.
Since 2021, Jimmy has been working at Nexus Group – Global as a Software Developer. More details about this role are not provided.
Jimmy Pesola attended Karlstad University from 2001 to 2006, where they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Computer Software Engineering.
