Matt Klaus

Matt Klaus is the Director of Technical Services at NFPA. Matt has over 18 years of experience in the fire protection industry. Matt started their career as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer at Aon Fire Protection Engineering. Matt was an account manager for the National Construction Account and a project manager for design/installation projects. Matt also conducted plan reviews and prepared code compliance reports. In 2010, they joined NFPA as the Director of Technical Services. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of NFPA's technical programs and services.

Matt Klaus has a Master of Science (M.S.) in Fire Protection Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Matt Klaus works with Amanda Kimball - Executive Director, Research Foundation, Birgitte Messerschmidt - Director, Research, and Tracy Vecchiarelli - Standards Lead. Matt Klaus reports to Christian Dubay, VP, Engineering & Research.
