Peter Heuer has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a teacher in alternative education for grades 9-12 at Niagara Falls City School District since December 2012. This role involves working with various levels of at-risk students in a high-needs setting. Peter has also taken on roles as a building-based substitute and long-term substitute teacher, responsible for teaching 12th grade government and economics, where lesson plans were crafted to be engaging and culturally relevant. In addition to teaching experience, Peter worked as a research assistant for the National Endowment for the Humanities during the summer of 2011, contributing to research on the War of 1812 for the "Crossroads of Empire" program. Peter holds a Master of Arts in History from the University at Buffalo (2012-2014) and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching from Niagara University (2008-2012).
