Brita Linnestad has over 20 years of work experience in the field of software engineering and geophysics. Brita currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research since December 2018. Prior to that, Brita worked at Schlumberger for almost 20 years, where they held various roles including Senior Geophysicist and Software Engineer. In their role as a Senior Geophysicist, they focused on signal processing of seismic data, development of numerical algorithms, and data analysis using Matlab. Brita also developed and tested processing packages for Infield Data Processing and was responsible for requirement gathering, development, testing, and coordination with stakeholders, software developers, and test engineers. As a Software Engineer, Brita worked on developing and maintaining software for Real Time Seismic Data Acquisition Systems, involving C/C++ programming, requirement gathering, implementation, field testing, and support.
Brita Linnestad completed their Master's degree in Geophysics from the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1992 to 1998. Additionally, they briefly studied Geophysics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997.
