Lars Sandved Dalen

Lars Sandved Dalen has worked in various roles and positions over the years. Lars Sandved began their career in 1994 as a Project Coordinator at the Department of Horticulture, Agricultural University of Norway, where they coordinated the project "Plants and Indoor Climate." In 1997, they were a Guest Researcher at the Department of Biology, University of Waterloo, Canada, working on antifreeze proteins in Norway spruce.

From 1998 to 2001, Lars worked as a Research Scientist/Post.doc at the Norwegian Forest Research Institute, leading a four-year research project on "Molecular Markers as Indicators of Stress." Lars Sandved also worked on a project on "Fundamental Molecular Response Studies of Drought Stress in Gymnosperms." During this time, they published papers, gave talks at conferences, and collaborated internationally.

In 2002, Lars served as a Lecturer at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, teaching and developing an upper-level course in plant physiology and photosynthesis. Lars Sandved was awarded the NLH Student Prize for best lecturer. In 2003, they returned to the Norwegian Forest Research Institute as a Managing Editor for the institute's image archive. Lars Sandved later held positions as a Communication Officer and a Research Scientist/Post.doc, leading a project on the molecular studies of antifreeze proteins in forest trees.

From 2012 to 2015, Lars worked as a Senior Communication Officer at Norsk Institutt for skog og landskap, writing and editing op-eds, conducting interviews with scientists, and publishing articles. Lars Sandved also pitched news stories to national and regional media. Since 2015, Lars has been working as a Communications Officer at NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research.

Lars Sandved Dalen has an extensive education history with multiple degrees and fields of study. Lars Sandved obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, and Finance from the University of Oregon in 1988. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Ecology, and Environmental Science from the Department of Biology at the University of Oslo, which they completed in 1991. Lars Sandved then continued their studies at the University of Oslo, obtaining a Master's degree in Biology with a specialization in Plant Physiology in 1993. In 1994, Lars Sandved Dalen completed their education in Plant Sciences with a Ph.D. from the Department of Forestry at the Agricultural University of Norway.

After a break in their academic pursuits, Lars Sandved Dalen returned to education in 2010, attending Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences for Non-Fictional Writing. This educational experience is missing information regarding the completion of a degree. In 2019, they enrolled at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University, working towards a Master's degree in Journalism Non-Fiction Writing, which is expected to be completed by 2023.

Aside from their formal education, Lars Sandved Dalen also obtained a certification as a Trainer 1 in Tennis from Norges tennisforbund in May 2012.
