Joey Stoyas

Joey Stoyas is a Clinical Social Work Intern at Nicasa Behavioral Health Services, where completion of internship hours includes administering intake evaluations and diagnosing clients. As Chapter Leader of the DeKalb National Stuttering Association since February 2018, Joey facilitates a support group for individuals who stutter and educates about stuttering. Additionally, Joey serves as Co-Director of the Fundraising and Advocacy Committee for MySpeech, a national non-profit organization, focusing on grant writing and public education regarding stuttering and mental health. Previous experience includes a Case Manager Intern position at Nicasa Behavioral Health Services and six years of service in the US Army as a logistics coordinator. Joey holds a Master of Social Work from Walden University and two Bachelor’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University and Criminal Justice from Illinois State University.
