Joseph Gracia has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Joseph is currently the CEO of Nickels, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to this, Joseph was an Entrepreneur In Residence at ideas42 from April 2018 to December 2018. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at WHOOP, initially as the Director of Product Management and later as the VP Product Management.
Before joining WHOOP, Joseph held multiple positions at Opower, starting as a Consumer Marketing Manager in 2011 and eventually becoming the Director of Behavioral Marketing and Design from July 2013 to March 2015. At Opower, they led a team responsible for engaging utility customers through marketing communications utilizing behavioral science and customer segmentation.
Joseph's earlier career comprised of roles at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where they worked as a Consultant from September 2007 to January 2010 and subsequently as a Senior Consultant until February 2011. During their time at Roland Berger, they contributed to various projects including benchmarking operational performance, driving cost-saving measures, conducting financial analysis, and supporting business planning.
Prior to their career in consulting, Joseph worked as a Social Studies Teacher at Lanai Public High School for a brief period in 2006. Joseph also gained experience as a Paralegal at Zurich North America from June 2004 to January 2006, providing support to multiple attorneys in worker's compensation cases.
Joseph Gracia completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Bates College, spanning from 2000 to 2004. Following this, from 2006 to 2007, they pursued an MPhil degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge.
