Thomas Benson has worked in various roles since 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Supervisor at the Bill R. Foster Recreation Center, where they conducted training sessions and orientations for new students and student employees, oversaw employees, and managed the day-to-day operations for all student employees. Thomas then worked as a Fleet Manager at Wilson Logistics Inc. from 2016 to 2021, where they managed day-to-day operations of lease and company drivers, coached and developed business classes to teach new contractor and company drivers, and served as the liaison between operations, training, and safety departments. From 2021 to 2022, they worked at Stevens Transport as a Logistics Planner and Driver Operation Manager, where they reviewed and forecasted freight, proactively established and maintained effective working team relationships with all supporting departments, provided visibility to management and the customer, balanced and maintained trailer pool inventory, and coached drivers on the analytics of fuel reductions. Thomas is currently employed at Nickson as a Fleet Operations Manager.
Thomas Benson attended South Georgia Technical College from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Marketing/Marketing Management, General. Thomas then attended Missouri State University from 2014 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management. Thomas is currently attending Missouri State University, where they are pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology. Additionally, in August 2020, Thomas Benson obtained a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) certification from the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA).
