Michel Mikhael has extensive experience in the field of neonatology and pediatric medicine. Michel currently serves as the Medical Director of the Small Baby Unit at CHOC Children's, a role they have held since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Neonatologist at the same institution starting in July 2012.
In 2016, Mikhael founded Nicolette and assumed the position of Founder and Chief Medical Officer. Additionally, they have served as the Associate Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Irvine since July 2013 and January 2021, respectively.
Mikhael began their career as a Pediatric Resident at Maimonides Medical Center, where they worked from July 2006 to June 2009. Michel then pursued a Neonatology Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas from July 2009 to June 2012.
Michel Mikhael attended Cairo University and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2003. In terms of additional certifications, they completed the Patient Safety Certificate Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital in July 2019 and the Intermediate Improvement Science Series (I²S²) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in June 2019. Michel also received the American Board of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine certification from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) in 2014, and the American Board of Pediatrics certification from the same institution in 2009.
