Doug Hubatsch has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Doug is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Nicox since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Novartis as the Global Medical Head for Ocular Surface Disease and Digital Medicine from April 2016 to December 2021. Before that, they held positions at Alcon, where they were the Sr. Medical Affairs Director from August 2010 to March 2016, and the Medical Affairs Head from June 2008 to August 2010. Doug also worked at Roche as the Therapeutic Area Head for Medical Affairs in the Nephrology field from April 2006 to June 2008. Prior to joining Roche, they were a Medical Advisor at Roche Pharmaceuticals from 2004 to 2006. Doug started their career at AstraZeneca as a Scientist from 1997 to 2000, then served as a Clinical Scientist from 2000 to 2001, and finally as a Medical Science Liaison from 2001 to 2004.
Doug Hubatsch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry & Biotechnology from Carleton University in 1991. Doug later pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Physiology at the University of Ottawa from 1994 to 1996.
