Hoa Loranger has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience and usability. From 1997 to 1999, Hoa worked as a Human Factors Engineer at TRW. Then, from 1999 to 2001, they served as a Usability Specialist Lead at Intuit. Their career at Nielsen Norman Group started in 2001, where they held multiple roles including User Experience Specialist, Director, and Vice President. During this time, Hoa consulted with various companies in different industries, conducted usability research worldwide, and published reports on web usability. They also co-authored a book titled "Prioritizing Web Usability" in 2006. In 2019, Hoa became self-employed before rejoining Nielsen Norman Group as Vice President in 2022.
Hoa Loranger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UC Irvine in 1995. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Human Factors and Applied Experimental Psychology from California State University, Northridge, which was completed in 1998.
