Owned by Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer, Nimax Theatres is an entrepreneurial and innovative organisation that owns and operates six theatres in the heart of London’s West End – the Apollo, Duchess, Garrick, Lyric, Palace, and Vaudeville. Additionally, Nica Burns has built an exciting new flexible theatre located at the top of Charing Cross Road, @sohoplace, which has recently opened and has a close operational relationship with Nimax Theatres.

Key duties and responsibilities
Assist the Head of Electrics and Deputy Head of Electrics in providing electrical and stage lights services for all performances, concerts and other activities as required.
Assisting with ensuring the building electrical installation is maintained to a safe standard as required by the Head and Deputy Head of Electrics.
Health and Safety
Assist the Head of Electrics with the implementation and operation of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy at the theatre.
Assist the Head of Electrics with the implementation and operation of the Company’s Emergency Procedures at the theatre, and carry out any specific duties required in the event of an emergency.
Assist with maintenance of the fire alarm system including carrying out regular tests in line with procedure. Investigate faulty detectors and rectify.
Comply with method controls laid out in the theatre’s risk assessments.
Ensure that health and safety equipment and PPE supplied is available and used correctly. Report any defects to the Head of Electrics.
Assist with ensuring that all the electrical equipment is maintained to a high standard and that portable appliances are regularly tested, in accordance with recommended guidelines to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
Building
To assist in ensuring that the electrical installation is in good order and bring any deficiencies to the attention of the Head of Electrics.
To maintain good standards of housekeeping throughout the building.
To carry out maintenance work throughout the building as required by the Theatre Manager or Head or Deputy Head of Electrics.
Turn on and off electrical equipment as required at the beginning and end of the day.
Conduct lamp replacement rounds on all internal and external areas as required.
Production
Work with the visiting Company and Stage Management to ensure good communication and the effective and efficient running of the current production.
Assist in ensuring the Production is maintained to the highest technical standards.
Be familiar with the cues of each electrics track in the production.
Operate the lighting desk and provide cover for performance electricians when required.
During get ins/outs of productions, fulfil manual tasks such as transporting equipment, set and lights around the building as required.
Staff
Assist in ensuring any performance staff are completely conversant with their duties for the show.
Supervise performance staff in the absence of the Head and Deputy Head of Electrics.
