Katharine Brinker has held various roles in the software engineering, tutoring, and data entry fields since 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as a data entry contractor for Systems Outsourcing Solutions, processing resumes from General Motors and survey cards from Adobe conferences. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as a barista at one of the busiest Starbucks stores in the East Bay. In 2013, they also began tutoring one student in Algebra II for one to three hours a week. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at NASA Ames Research Center / QTS, Inc. as a software engineer, supporting NASA's Technology Transfer System (NTTS) and Technology Transfer Portal (T2 Portal). During this time, they managed the public-facing infrastructure of the group of NTTS websites, including the T2 Portal, Software Catalog, (now deprecated) QuickLaunch licensing system, e-NTR Technology Reporting System, and the tech transfer websites of most of the ten NASA field centers. In 2019, they began working at NimbleRx as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer.
Katharine Brinker obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from San Jose State University in 2015, after attending from 2009 to 2015. From 2011 to 2012, they participated in an Official Student Exchange Program at the University of Hertfordshire. In 2017, they earned their Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
