Elsabe de Vries

Elsabe de Vries has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Elsabe started their career in 1989 at Allan Gray Proprietary Limited, where they worked as an Investment Accountant and later became a Financial Manager. In 1994, they moved to Investec Asset Management, where they held various roles including Finance Manager, Head of Human Resources, Head of Compliance, Head of Operational Risk, and Coordinator for Internal Audit. Elsabe also worked as an Enterprise Risk Manager Advisor at Investec from 2016 to 2019. Currently, they are the Head of Internal Audit at Ninety One, a position they have held since October 2019.

Elsabe De Vries began their education at De Kuilen High School, where they completed their Matric degree in Accounting and Business/Management from 1976 to 1980. Following their high school education, they enrolled at Stellenbosch University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Accounting degree from 1981 to 1984, specializing in Accounting and Finance. After completing their undergraduate studies, Elsabe furthered their education at the University of South Africa (Universiteit van Suid-Afrika) in 1985, where they obtained a B Compt Honours degree in Accounting and Finance. Later, in the period of 1998 to 2003, Elsabe attended The University of Manchester, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance, General.
