Joshua Buckman is a highly experienced software engineer with a robust background in graphics and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Nintendo since April 2014, Joshua led the system engineering efforts for graphics and GPU APIs for the Nintendo Switch, including co-designing and implementing a custom graphics API. Prior to this, Joshua was the Lead Software Engineer at HTC from May 2010 to April 2014, where responsibilities included overseeing a team dedicated to the 3D rendering and animation engine for Android smartphones. Joshua's career began at Microsoft, working from January 1999 to May 2010 on notable projects such as optimizing the Qualcomm Adreno 200 D3D driver for Windows Phone 7 and implementing various screens for the Zune HD. Joshua holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, earned between 1995 and 1998.
