Anna Cutmore is a currently serving member of the UN National Ocean Decade Committee for the Netherlands, starting in April 2024. Since June 2021, Anna has worked as a Research Scientist at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, focusing on biogeochemical cycles in the Black Sea and the origins of Pliocene sapropel and diatomite layers. Anna earned a PhD in Palaeoclimatology from University College London, where research included analyzing climate and vegetation changes over the last 28,000 years. Prior to this, Anna held positions as a Senior Researcher at Directorbank and contributed to the Carpological Collection at the Natural History Museum. Educational qualifications include a BSc from King's College London, an MSc from University College London, and a visiting scholarship at ETH Zurich.
